With the Christmas Holiday coming soon, and the Seattle Mariners making some big moves building the 2010 squad, I would like to share this poem that my Uncle Chris wrote, like myself, he is a huge Seattle Mariners fan!
The Boys Of Winter
Twas the night before Christmas at Safeco Field
Jack Zduriencik was busy trying trying to make another deal
The team was all gathered around the tree
The 1st present opened was pitcher Cliff Lee
Today I hear Silva is gone though we can’t say sadly
Cruisin the outfield now will be Milton Bradley
We wait to see if Figgins will play 2nd or 3rd base
Or will there be other trades to take place
Will the team be improved and the trades for the best
Out on the field they will be put to the test
So we wait for spring training and sunny days
The great pitching, homeruns and double plays
The voice of Dave Neihaus simply the best
Can the M’s move up and take the American League West
And now it’s time to put this Christmas Poem to rest
Go M’s
